[Truthfully, he's not sure how much of what they were told he actually believes, either, so when he speaks, there might be some genuine curiosity about what Zura thinks about all of this. He didn't have too many issues accepting that their world might have been destroyed—it was really abrupt, but probably not impossible. But even if that was true, he wasn't sure how he felt about their fate being left in someone else's hands.
But regardless of which parts were truths and which parts were lies, Takasugi knew for sure that he didn't trust their supposed "saviors." Maybe it was because he couldn't just trust people who'd suddenly whisked them away and gave them a new life without their consent, or maybe it was because he couldn't stand the idea of having his life stolen from him like this, or maybe it was something else completely, but he knew that as much as he hated and despised where he came from, he didn't like being here any better.
