Hello! You've stumbled across the 4th wall opt out. Gintama is a very 4th wall breaking series and a vast amount of its humor is solely on 4th wall breaking. It typically references popular anime and Japanese culture and is meta enough to understand that it is an anime/manga. Please let me know here if you would like for me not to 4th wall your character. Katsura is especially knowledgeable with Shounen JUMP characters, some anime, dated videogames, world known franchise (such as Star Wars), etc. I try to peek at people's permissions before I tag them, but if it's not posted here or otherwise stated on a character's permissions, I'll proceed as normal. You can let me know if it's okay for Katsura to be self aware of his fictional existence and not recognize your character or not 4th wall at all.
