[ Regardless of where you are, though it could possibly and probably be at the apartment, Sakamoto will find that he's being stalked followed by said Elizabeth.
[Elizabeth has always been unsettling- Sakamoto didn't think much of it at first. Shouldn't the weird thing like him, after all? Sakamoto was the reason Elizabeth and Zura met in the first place?
His palms feel sweaty as he turns to face the other.]
[ You know, he really doesn't have the patience for this. He really doesn't. He has only been here for about a day, and, quite frankly, it's all taking a toll on him. Elizabeth is generally peaceful when it comes to sitting down and talking with somebody he considers a comrade, but he's stressed since his arrival.
He watched the power point. He analyzed his surroundings and is calculating as much information about this place. He's had his reunion with Katsura and spent long, exhausting hours with his emotionally drained leader who didn't seem to stop with his stories and his theories about this place. Everything Katsura told him just angered him even more.
This place. It really upset Katsura— but also, Katsura was going on about things in the past to Elizabeth that he had to stop and slow him down. Their communication was ... unusual. Elizabeth was apologizing for siding with Shou-chan; Katsura was apologizing for forgetting him and nothing made any kind of sense. It was frustrating; it was really testing Elizabeth's patience.
And now, Sakamoto, whom he hadn't seen in a long time was testing his patience.
Elizabeth leers through the beak at Sakamoto before verbally speaking: ]
IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR LIMBS, YOU WILL SIT AND TALK TO ME.
Listen, I'm gonna tell ya one thing- Don't get discouraged.
[Sakamoto smiles, albeit sadly.]
Our enemies are pretty tough- I'm sure you know, but they're watchin' us right now. They can see everything, hear everything.
That sorta stuff.
[He nods to the other.]
That bein' said, I really don't give a damn- I'd like to trust 'em cause that's the kind of guy I am, but they haven't given me any reason to. Those bastards killed a guy in cold blood over the network- Yeah, maybe he was fucked up too, but I ain't buyin' what they're selling.
I think we're capital or something, that's the way I see it- They need us, they've gotta.
It must cost so much damn money to keep us alive.
And you know how people get over money, right? They'll do pretty much anything to stay rich, even screw everybody over.
Dunno what they're mining exactly, but I've got a feeling it's somethin' sinister. I know fer sure that they're makin' bank offa us, off of some kind of "energy."
[At that desperate plea, Sakamoto's gaze softens.]
Yeah, we will.
I know we will- You believe in him, don'tcha? So do I. I believe in all of us.
[There is fondness in his voice.]
Maybe we didn't win the war- But we've all done some pretty cool stuff, haven't we? Look at us.
[ Energy? Bank off of us? They're tools for something? His pride doesn't take well to that; it was a detail that Katsura had left out. His race was a prideful race, as you know, and being thought of as something that was being used for somebody else's gain— well.
That just wouldn't sit well at all. Elizabeth figures he should just kill them...
But he knows that isn't how Katsura would want things to be done. Even back home, Zura wanted to peacefully reclaim the land and drive the threatening Amanto out to reclaim the land as a samurai land again which is why his reckless, terrorist tendencies had dissipated for the time being and replaced with political activism.
Elizabeth's chest rises and falls with an exasperated sigh.
"We're alive because they keep us alive— —For their dirty work."
"That is my understanding— And I don't like it."
And then: "Why don't you talk to them?—" "You spoke with our leader before." "Maybe you can negotiate—" "And if not—"
Elizabeth drops the placard and his beak opens up to reveal the very end of a full blown cannon is seen. It's aimed at Sakamoto, but don't worry, he isn't going to use it. It's kind of alarming though, isn't it? Especially when you cannot read his expression.
[ Elizabeth instantly thought of that. He observed a lot of things on Sakamoto's ship, and Mutsu taking the lead was the thing he most commonly saw. Okay, he won't give Sakamoto shit about it no matter how much he wants to.
"I understand—" "I'm sorry if I'm asking too much too soon—"
There's silence, if you want to call it that, on Elizabeth's end. His head drops, watching the floor for awhile, and then: "How has Katsura-san really been?—" "Do you know?" "He said he has been here for months." ]
[ Just like that, it looks like little tears have swollen up in the corner of Elizabeth's rounded eyes. Sure, it didn't seem like they were separated at all for Elizabeth, but he can only imagine how awful it must have been for Katsura to be separated from him— again— for almost a year and he's quickly reminded of that time he left Katsura for a good length of time because he thought about what was best for them.
Ah. Katsura does need him to feel "normal" however that is supposed to work. It only makes him feel a twist of regret in his heart for even considering leaving Katsura permanently. It's a good thing that is all in the past now. Well, sort of. It was sort of him that was going to leave Katsura. It's whatever. They sorted it out when he got here.
The tears blink away. If he were talking to Zura right now, he probably would have shown more emotion, but Elizabeth composes himself and hastily asks:
"Have you been taking good care of him?"
Sakamoto might have noticed, but all Elizabeth really care about right now is connected to Zura's well being. ]
When things really get to 'im, he doesn't say much.
[Honesty in this case is probably best. Sakamoto doesn't make any excuses, although he's been feeling incredibly shitty as well.]
I make sure to check that he's eatin' right, I touch base with him in the evening and I watch over him when I can. We were separated for a while, though.
[ Elizabeth takes this all in fine and well. Separated? That's not good. It seems Zura has been functioning independently which is a big step for Zura since he is practically inseparable with Elizabeth. Another important question arises:
"Do you even cuddle him properly—?" "If his eyes are open when he sleeps—" "You're not cuddling him properly." ]

not sure how 2 feel about that
1.2

stalkedfollowed by said Elizabeth. He has Zura's CEREVice in his hand.
A placard appears:
"I've seen much bigger." ]

Wait a minute.
Is his bigger than mine?
[Sakamoto, don't sound so betrayed.]
no subject
"—I don't think it is any business for you to know."
"Though, that answers one question I had—
"—In regards to you being in the same household as Katsura-san."
Elizabeth takes a seat right before Sakamoto before pulling out another sign:
"We need to talk." ]
no subject
I didn't sleep with him if that's what you're thinking.
[WHY WOULD THAT BE ELIZABETH'S FIRST CONCLUSION??? WHY WOULD ANYONE]
no subject
WOW FUCK YOU.
Elizabeth just simply stares and shows the same sign:
"We need to talk."
god, sit down, geeze. ]

You're not much of a negotiator, are ya?
[Continuing to stand, Sakamoto places his hands in his pockets.]
Yeah, yeah! I'll talk. What do you wanna know?
no subject
Fine. You stand. He isn't going to waste his breath and placards on trying to get you to sit. He'll awkwardly be ball-level with you.
"Where do you stand about this place?"
"Katsura-san has told me some horrible things that have happened."
"Have your experiences been the same?" ]
no subject
Which version do ya want?
[Sakamoto whistles.]
The sugar-coated version, or the real shit? C'mon, c'mon- We've got more important things ta do.
no subject
"Why hasn't anybody done anything about this place?"
"—From what it sounds like, people have tried—"
"—But nothing has come out of it."
Elizabeth spits to the side.
"Do people not care about home?—"

Oi, keep yer threats to yourself.
That shit doesn't work here. One bazooka-
[Sakamoto steps forward, tapping the weapon with his finger.]
Isn't gonna cut it. I'm workin' on something, trust me. But we're dealin' with the big leagues.
no subject
"Then what would you suggest?"
"I'm missing my regularly scheduled commercials by being here."
What a demanding pet. ]
no subject
In exchange, we demand our freedom.
[He brushes a strand of hair behind his ear.]
There's some problems with that logic, I know. These aren't folks you can trust with a deal like that.
But it's all I've got for now. You might be missin' your commercials, but I'm missin' my meetings 'n my crew.
You know I've got a company to run.

I can't say either of us are doin' amazin', but we're holdin' out. Now that you've arrived, his friends are all here.
I think that's really important to 'im, so he'll be doin' better now. He was really worried about you. I think he missed ya a whole lot.
