[The doorbell is rung at Katsura's home, but there's no one outside when the door opens (because he's hiding around a nearby corner to spy for a reaction). Instead, a pink gift bag is left there, with a very large tag on it that reads:
For Mr. Katsura -
Please be sure to open this quickly, as I am not sure how much air can get through the bag, or how much trouble she could get up to when left to her own devices.
Happy Christmas!
Sincerely, Santa
Despite the warning, though, the opening is uncovered save for a thin layer of tissue paper, and underneath is a very sleepy, very soft black kitten in good health.]
[ Katsura cracks open the door when he hears it ring, though there is some words like he is talking to somebody being heard-- but he hushes once the door is open. He peers down at the bag before crouching, watching it for the longest time. Is it ticking? Is it a bomb? Are the police going to get him?
Once he notices the tissue paper moves, his eyes grow a little. ]
Bag-dono, are you alright? [ talking to inanimate objects.. again.. ]
[Well, that's an interesting reaction from a grown man. Unexpected, but really cute, and it's hard not to laugh at it. He should have expected as much from somebody asking for something as sickeningly sweet as a kitten for a gift, really.
It seems to have gone over well, though, so Cynbel takes it as a sign his work is done and quietly leave. Enjoy your new cat and all the furniture destruction it comes with, Katsura.]
[ Katsura perks up when he hears something like laughter and looks around, holding this precious little kitten closer to his body protectively. He looks in the general direction of the laughter. ]
There is nothing to see here-- just father and daughter. State your business.
[Uh oh. He hadn't meant to get caught, and letting himself be known would ruin the point of it being "secret" Santa, right? Before he can think too hard about it, he makes a decision, and he uses the voice of what sounds like a little girl to answer.]

Aaaaahhhh, kitten!
[ His face instantly flushes red as he reaches inside to gently lift her up, looking at her sleepy little face. ]
Kitten-chan, where is your mother? Are you an orphan? Does this mean I'm a father now?
[ too preoccupied to look at the note tbh ]

You're the father of a cat, Mister?

Yes. I just gave birth.
[ ok everything was wrong with that sentence but whatever--
He looks down at his kitten friend in adoration. ]
I'll have to think of a name.
